How to Make A Resin Pudding Jar

This lovely golden honey jar with little bear decoration will make a great piece for holding jewelry, small items, or your favorite snacks. It is simple to make and looks beautiful sitting on your dressing table or nightstand. Follow the instructions below to learn how to make this lovely handmade craft.

Precautions:

When ever you work with nay type of chemicals such as paint, epoxy, or adhesives, always work in a well-ventilated area and use personal protective gerar such as a mask and gloves to protect your skin from splatters.

Be advised that each application of epoxy needs 24 - 48 hours drying time before any more can be applied. If you are using layers, each layer needs to dry separately or they will bubble up.

What You Will Need:

  • Epoxy resin
  • Hardener
  • Mask
  • Gloves
  • Small medicine cups for measuring
  • Stirring sticks
  • UV light
  • Tweezers
  • White Mica Powder
  • Yellow Mica Powder

Instructions

Step 1

Mix your white mica powder and yellow mica powder into two separate cups of clear resin. Mix to make one yellow and one white cup of resin. Fill the honey jar mold with white resin at the bottom and allow to dry 24 - 48 hours before adding more. When the white resin has cured, fill the remainder of the mold with yellow resin and allow to dry for another 24-48 hours.

Step 2

Pour some of the white resin into the mold for the lid, just the lower level. Fill in your jar topper mold with white and yellow resin to create the characters that will decorate the top of the jar. You can use just one color or use both colors for each piece.

Step 3

Fill the remainder of the lid mold with yellow resin. Sit all pieces aside to cure for 24 - 48 hours in a place that won’t get too hot or too cold.

Step 4

After all the pieces have cured completely, remove them from the molds, except for the lid piece. Remove the Teddy Bear piece and smaller pieces from the molds. Dip the bottom of each small piece and attach it to the top of the jar lid. Place the little bear in the middle and the other pieces around it with the tweezers. Use a UV light to cure the pieces before adding more resin.

Step 5

Add a couple of gold accents and cover with the clear resin. Allow to dry another 24 hours. Add a gold gilded label to the front of your jar and fill it with candy, popcorn, or other delicious treats. You have a beautiful jar to hold your favorite things.

Resin is extremely durable, and the things you make with it will be too., Once fully cured, it will harden like glass but won’t shatter if you drop it. Maske this lovely jar to sit on your desk and hold sweet treats for your co-workers or guests.
