In this passage, I will be demonstrating how to make a cat paw-shaped keychain in simple steps so you can do it at home with ease. We will be making four different cat paw kitchens so that you have more options to work with or you can even make them all and keep changing your keychains according to your mood.
Before you get started with this project, you would need to collect some items that are required for this project.

- A drilling machine
- A copper wire
- Silicone molds in cat paw-shaped
Resin cat paw keychain with owl written on it
For the first keychain, I will be showing you how to make a resin cat paw keychain with an ‘owl’ written on it. You can follow these simple steps to achieve a similar keychain.
Step 1
Pour green-colored glitter into the cat paw silicon mold, only filling the paw print pads. I have used golden glitter for the mid paw. Make sure to level the glitter, so it doesn’t mess up the shape. Pour your green-colored Resin into the mold. Cover the glitter, so it perfectly preserves and hardens the glitter in place.
Step 2
After pouring the first layer of your Resin, take a soft brush and gently brush a layer of Resin to act as glue for the flakes. You can use any flakes of your choice. I have used greenish-blue flakes to cover the first layer of the resin keychain. The flakes will perfectly sit on top of the Resin and effectively adhere to it while it is curing. Use a UV light torch to dry and secure the Resin and the crystal flakes in place.
Step 3
Next, Pour in another layer of super clear Resin. Tap the mold gently to level the Resin. Then pour another layer. Doing so will secure the next part of our keychain. Now we will lay our cute owl figurine in the two layers of clear Resin. You can add any figurine of your choice. Once you have gently laid the accessory. You can add letters. I have pieced together letters detailing “owl.” Next, add another layer of clear Resin and let the mold sit for a while until it cures.
Step 4
I have created several other similar yet more miniature cat paw keychains. Gently demold them and set them aside. Next, demold your bigger resin owl cat paw from its mold. Here, I’m using keychain hardware that comes with an eye in attachment. I am going to drill a hole in the Resin in all of my resin paws. Before drilling, be sure to use a pen or a sharpie to mark a spot for the drill. Gently drill a small hole in all of the small resin cat paws. Drill a bigger hole in our original resin cat paw.
Step 5
Next, simply screw a pin stem into the hole of each cat paw. I have created my keychain stems, so I will secure the cat paws together by joining them together through a chain. Next, I am inserting a small bulb accessory into the hole we created. But for that, add a holder and top it with a dot of Resin. Use a UV light to secure and harden it. Then, add the bulb to the holder. It is safe and alight now! Screw the top with a pin stem, and we are ready to attach the big paw to the little ones.
Step 6
I am using a chain of similar color as that of resin paws. Attach the little ones and the big resin paw keychain, and it should look something like this!
Light it up and enjoy a gleaming, gorgeous, and grand view of the resin cat paw keychain! And now let’s move on to the next keychain.
Funky-looking cat paw keychain
Now let's look at how we can achieve a very funky looking girly cat paw keychain. Although we would have to make a few layers of resin, it’s quite easy once you understand the steps.
Step 1
Take your resin mixture and divide it into three parts. Add blue dye to one part, white to another, and keep one part clear. Add the blue-colored resin to the mold. Be careful to not fill it up completely, we just have to add a small quantity. Make sure to add it only to the palm area and on alternate toes. Now add the white-colored resin mixture to the two toes that are left.
Step 2
Take a clear resin mixture and add glitter chunks into it. Now pour this glitter mixture into the mold making sure only half of the mold is filled up. Now pour in the clear resin mixture, still not filling it up completely. Make sure to tap the mold after every layer.
Step 3
Now is the fun part, take your decorative items and arrange them on top while the resin is still wet. I have used a bow, heel, lipstick, and some scissors to create a girly look on the keychain. Now again add a layer of clear resin. Add some more charms now. I added a ‘5’ and a shirt on the top along with some tiny pearls to add a sophisticated touch. Make sure to use a tweezer while handling the charms to do it efficiently. Add another layer of clear resin. Now add some more charms. This time I added a cute little purse and a clutch. Add another layer of clear resin. This will be the last layer so make sure to fill the mold to the top.
Step 4
It is now time to reveal the final product. Gently de-mold the keychain now after the resin has hardened up. I also made some small miniature similar keychains and will de-mold them as well.
Galaxy inspired cat paw keychain
Here, I will be show you how to make a galaxy-inspired cat paw keychain in simple steps so you can do it at home with ease. This piece uses a drill machine as well so please be careful while attempting this. Try following these easy steps just like I did.
Step 1
Take your cat paw molds and pour in a layer of clear resin mixture in it. Now take your blue-colored resin mixture and pour it into the mold. Now take a rubber mold that is meant to create a crystallized texture, dip it into clear resin and place it on top of the mold where the blue resin sits. Leave it there for a while and later pull the rubber part off to reveal a pretty crystallized texture.
Step 2
Take a clean sheet of the hard plastic sticker sheet and outline the shape of the mold. Use scissors to trace the outline and cut the shape. Remove the back part to reveal a sticker. Pick up the blue and white crystal-like glitter chunks and place them inside the mold along with some shiny glitter as well. Make sure to place the white glitter in the middle and the blue glitter in the surroundings to create a galaxy sort of look. Next, place the sticker on top. Use your UV light torch to dry and secure the resin in its place.
Step 3
Next, pour in some more clear resin and place the decorative charm you chose. I have used an astronaut so I placed it on the left side and added some blue and white crystals to add more depth and create a galaxy-type look. After this, add another layer of the clear resin mixture. Now let it harden up and carefully take it out of the mold.
Step 4
Next, I made a tiny paw in another mold with resin and attached an LED light to it. I will now use a UV light to attach the screw fixer at the bottom and then fix the tiny cat paw on it using screws. With this step, you will have to be careful as you will be using a drill. I will be carefully drilling a hole and using gold copper to create a hoop at the top part. Simply use the hoop to now add it to the keychain, and you have your galaxy-inspired cat paw keychain ready!
Beachy-inspired teal cat paw keychain
Lets move on to our last cat paw keychain. This will be a beachy inspired one with some jellyfish stickers to add the beachy vibe. Try following these easy steps just like I did.
Step 1
Take your cat paw resin mold and pour in the teal-colored resin mixture. On top of it start pouring in the clear resin mixture.
Step 2
Now take a clear plastic sticker that is cut up in the shape of the mold and place it on the top. This will create a shiny holographic look. Now again pour in a layer of the clear resin mixture. Take a rubber shaped in a cat paw shape and place it on top to form the shape of a cat paw on top. Finally, add shiny silver glitter and pour in more clear resin on the top. To add more detail use a tweezer to place some crystals in an aligned form on the outer corners. Next, place a plastic sticker shaped like a cat paw on top and use a UV light torch to set everything in place.
Step 3
Now I have added white jellyfish stickers to create a beachy vibe. Add another layer of clear resin mixture and add more stickers on top. I also added gold lace to add some accent to the piece. I also added white glitter pieces to it. I added another layer of clear resin mixture to seal everything in place.
Step 4
I also made some miniature cat paws in the same shades of blues and finally, I took everything out of its molds after the resin had hardened up.
Step 5
This step needs to be carried out carefully as we will be making use of a drill machine. We will have to drill a hole in all the pieces including the bigger cat paw and the miniature ones as well. Now I have placed some silver hoops into the holes. Finally, I used a rubber chain and hooked all the pieces to it.
