Supplies Needed

  • Epoxy Resin and Hardener
  • Golden Mica Powder
  • Paint Brush
  • Dried Rose Buds and Petals
  • Tweezers
  • Silver Leaf Flakes
  • Mixing Spoon
  • Small Cups with Thin Spouts
  • Gloves

Step-by-step Instructions

Mentioned below are the detailed instructions that you need to follow to make wall crucifix for your home:

  • Paint the Silicone Mold with Marble Color Mica Powder

To begin with this project, you will make use of a technique that requires you to apply the mica powder directly to your silicone mold instead of mixing it into the epoxy resin mixture first. Take your wall crucifix silicone mold and use a clean paint brush to apply the golden mica powder to it.

When you are dry brushing the mold, make sure that you apply the mica powder to all the sides, corners, and crevices as well to bring out every feature. This way you would not have to deal with any bare spots when your project is ready.

Gently clean the excess mica powder so that the particles don’t come up in resin mixture that you will pour later on. This also ensures that your finished project gives a neat look.

  • Pour First Resin Layer and Add Embellishments

After dry brushing the mold, pour your first layer of clear resin mixture halfway.

For embellishments, use dried rose buds, petals, and silver leaf flakes. Use two to three dried rose buds and a few petals in each end of the stipes and the crosspiece.

You can also use tweezers to place the embellishments in the resin to avoid creating any mess.

Pour the final layer of resin in the mold to the brim.

Afterward, take silver leaf flakes and mix them in clear resin mixture. Use a mixing spoon to take small amounts of the silver leaf flakes resin mixture and pour them over the dried rose buds and petals. This adds shimmer to your project. Once you are done with adding the embellishments, you can leave the mold to cure for about twenty-four hours.

  • Demold and Hang

After your project has fully dried, you can carefully demold it and hang the wall crucifix in a spot where it is visible, preferably, at the entrance of your home.
